Alembic
A simple instant, and the freedom found within it.
It opens sharp and citric — bergamot and grapefruit catching like sunlight through rain, bright as the citrus twist in a glass shared across the street. Beneath, a mineral aquatic accord unfurls, cool and electric — hot stone meeting sudden downpour, the air thick with humidity.
At its heart, that stolen scent drifts closer — bright airy botanicals mingling with tonic's quiet effervescence, drawn from a doorway bar into the rain itself. White florals bloom softly around it, heady and warm, softened by a powdery hush.
The dry-down settles into wood and warmth — quiet, radiant, lingering like the last of an evening spent smiling, drenched, and utterly free.
For those who find beauty in getting caught.
A Memory, Distilled
“One day in Firenze, I was walking home when the sky opened and rain began to pour. All I could smell was the humidity rising off the hot pavement. I had no umbrella, and a white linen shirt was hardly the right combination for the weather — but I didn't mind.
I ducked into doorways and alcoves around the city, sheltering with a few others, taking in the scenery and letting the moment carry me. I felt strangely free, even knowing I'd be drenched by the time I made it home. I didn't care — I was having the time of my life.
The alcove I chose sat opposite a local bar, and the scent of gin and tonic drifted out, mingling with the rain and the thick summer air. It was captivating. I walked the rest of the way home smiling, certain that everyone who passed me thought I was a little mad."
